We aim to present a championship links of the highest quality. This is achieved through the expertise of our greenkeeping team.
In 2017, the directors of Seacroft decided that a more positive plan was required to refine the classic links course. Clyde Johnson, of Cunnin’ Golf Design, submitted a proposal to remodel the course, returning some features back to earlier days, improving the visual outlook and making the course more playable for all. A five phase plan was implemented to carry out this work over five years. Much of the work has involved introducing new bunkers and reshaping existing ones. We are currently in the middle of carrying out phase four and it is intended that the work will be completed in the spring of 2023.
Robin Lawie, Director of Golf at Seacroft Golf Club, explained: “With ever improving golf club technology, and demands from golfers for better and challenging courses, Seacroft made the decision to bring in one of the finest links architects in the country with the view of making sympathetic improvements to challenge not only the expert golfer but also the novice. The five year plan of repositioning of bunkers, tees and greens has also made the course abundantly more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and we believe an absolute ‘must play’ course.”
